Jenn Hamilton
I was raised on the south shore of Long Island by loving parents who are both the oldest of eight. Doing It Yourself is in my blood. Being in the world of psychology and social work over the past 18 years taught me that chosen community is equally important as back home DIY grit. My family history opens me up to connect with people, and I’ve learned to create my own story from intentionally chosen communal experiences.
I created Slow Down Psychotherapy to honor my resourcefulness, creativity, and dedication to truth, justice, and love. To bring this to people seeking reconnection to themselves and the people and places they came from.
I’m a deep listening, writing, slow moving lover of people, creatures, and God’s green earth.
I have an MSW degree from SUNY Albany, and certified in CRAFT, DBT and hypnotherapy. I have training and extensive experience working with people dealing with complex trauma, substance use, family dysfunction, and relationships.
